Thursday January 21 2016, 7.15pm meeting starts, 8.00pm Caroline Walker on MacDonald Gill: Maps, Murals and Memorials for the West Middlesex Family History Group.

Tuesday 12 April 2016, 8pm. Caroline Walker, Andrew and Angela Johnston on The life and work of MacDonald Gill, creator of the Gomshall Map.  Shere, Peaslake & Gomshall Local History Group.
Venue: Shere Village Hall, Gomshall Lane, Shere, Guildford, Surrey GU5 9HF. 

There will also be a small exhibition of Max's work in the local museum (see below).


Saturday 21 May 2016, 1pm. Caroline Walker: MacDonald Gill: Mapping a life. Charles Close Society (for Ordnance Survey map enthusiasts).  Members only (but new members welcome - only £15 p.a.).

Tuesday 24th March 2015. PMSA & 3rd Dimension one-day conference. Sculptors at War.  Dr Ruth Cribb's talk: Joseph Cribb: Conscripted Craftsman is about her grandfather's involvement in the letter-carving of the standard military headstone, whose alphabet and badges were designed by MacDonald Gill. Venue: Goethe Institute, Princes Gate, London SW7 2PH.

Tuesday 27th Jan 2015 8pm Highgate Literary and Scientific Institution.  Talk by Caroline Walker on the Life and Work of MacDonald Gill at the , HLSI, 11 South Grove, London N6 6BS
